Baker Hughes Incorporated (BHI) offers a challenging career opportunity for a Geoscientist to be part of our Petrophysicist - Development team in West Africa.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Processing and management of borehole seismic projects including Velocity surveys, Zero Offset VSPs, Offset VSPs, Walkaway VSPs
  • Working either individually or as part of a team with larger projects
  • Participation in the presentation of results to the customer
  • The delivery of projects to a deadline. The primary objective of VSFusion is to help clients transform data into informed business decisions that maximize asset value
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • BSc in Geophysics / Geoscience or related discipline
  • Understanding of seismic data or other signal processing
  • General knowledge of the oil and gas exploration and production industry
  • Good computer literacy and readiness for multidisciplinary training is essential
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Supportive and collaborative in a team environment
  • Able to work independently (with a minimum of direct supervision) when necessary
  • Able to work under pressure.
Key responsibilities/accountabilities
  • Under general supervision,
  • Performs geological / geomechanical / petrophysical/reservoir engineering interpretation and analysis using appropriate, state-of-the-art techniques to provide best In Class solutions for the client.Responsibility is limited to projects of minimal complexity, scope and impact.
  • Assignments are outlined in detail. Sphere of influence limited to immediate supervisor and project team.

  • Essential qualifications/requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geoscience or related earth science discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year relevant work experience or Master's Degree in Geoscience or related earth science discipline with no experience.
  • Preferred Skills / Knowledge
  • Good problem solving skills with a drive for results.
  • Self-motivated with good written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to build peer relationships as well as work independently.
  • Ability to assimilate into Multi-CulturalTeams.
  • Must be action oriented, ethical in value, and have a strong client focus.
  • Good analytical skills with effective listening skills.
  • Demonstrates understanding of earth science principles of E&P industry.
  • Understands drilling and evaluation product lines and theory of advanced wireline and LWD tools/measurements.
  • Knowledge of basic computer operation skills, competency in visualization and exposure to geoscience-specific computer operations
